IEEE CEC
The
IEEE Student Branch (60451) of College of Engineering Chengannur came
into existence on 16th September 1996. Since its inception, the branch
has grown from strength to strength becoming the largest in Kerala
Section and one of the most active in the entire Asia Pacific
Region.IEEE CEC student branch has been consistently trying to spread
the spirits of engineering and innovation coupled with dynamism and
intellect.

What is an Engineer?
Engineers are builders, adventurers and problem solvers. They seek quicker, better and less expensive ways of completing projects. An engineer uses the forces and materials of nature to benefit humankind. Helping people with laborsaving devices such as engines and computers, as well as providing health-enhancing devices.
They are the bridge between scientific research and the creation of new products, translating technical principles into goods, processes and systems for the benefit of all people. An engineers purpose is to preserve and inovate.

About IEEE
The IEEE symbol is composed of a four-sided kite, commemorating Benjamin Franklin's
famous experiment in electricity. The central feature is the straight and curved arrows,
symbolizing the right-hand rule of electromagnetism. The IEEE was formed in 1963 as a
merger of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and the Institute of
Radio Engineers (IRE). The kite portion of the design was inherited from the AIEE,
while the right-hand rule icon was adopted from the IRE. The Institute is basically a
non-profit, technical professional association.
Join IEEE as a Student Member Today!
The IEEE provides learning opportunities within the engineering sciences,
research and broadly, technology. The goal of the IEEE education programs
is to ensure the growth of skill and knowledge among the technical profession
and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE members,
the engineering and scientific community, and the general public.
