Chengannur ​ spearheaded by Robocom organized Lets Begin

Session 1

IEEE RAS Chairman Ulsah U S, Vice Chairman Abhijith M and Secretary Thushar
Tom welcomed students to the session. An introductory session was taken by Robocom
member Mithun Zacharia Varghese. Students were introduced to the Arduino platform
and gave a general perspective on what programming with C. They learned about
what a development board is, when is it used and its advantages over conventional
microcontroller circuits. The session was concluded by 5:00 PM

Session 2

Students were divided into small groups of about 5 and were mentored by Robocom
members Abhijith M, Allen Francis, Jobal James, Asher Thomas Babu, Mithun
Zacharia Varghese, Akhil Ravindran, R Aravind, Jeril Monzi Jacob taught basics of
programming with C language and using C to program Arduino to make it do a basic
blinking light program. The session was concluded by 5:00 PM

Session 3

Students were taught to interface an Arduino with sensors by using an IR Sensor.
They learned to interface with sensors, process data from them and do functions with
it. Session was taken by Abhijith M, Allen Francis, Jobal James, Asher Thomas Babu,
Mithun Zacharia Varghese, Akhil Ravindran, R Aravind, Jeril Monzi Jacob. At the
end of the sessions, students were confident enough to tackle larger problems and
sparked interest in robotics.
