IEEE SIGHT: REVELATION

Geared to encourage students to pierce deep into their imagination and make them capable of designing a product, IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology in collaboration with IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group College of Engineering Chengannur organized an online innovation challenge, Revelation. The objective of the program was to develop a product, from any random commodity by implementing design and technical modifications, that would ultimately make the lives of women easier.

The participants were asked to come up with a report that includes the project abstract, details on design and technical modifications, working, etc., given five days to brainstorm and formulate their ideas. The entries were evaluated by Thushar Tom and Praroop S, based on its innovation, design, feasibility, and technical modifications.

The product ‘Smart Taser’ stood first with the mastermind being Vishu G. Babu. The triumphant runners-up Diya Jose and Akshay Pradeep came up with the products ‘Safe Stain’ and ‘Stir Robot’ respectively. Prizes worth Rs.500 were bestowed upon these students.

Altogether, the program went well and had been a great opportunity for the students to improve their creative thinking as well as their product development skills.
